We Had A Lovely Stay At Sherwood Forest Holiday Park

We really enjoyed our weekend away at Sherwood Forest Holiday Park, situated in Gorsethorpe. Between Edwinstowe and Warsop. We checked it at 1-30pm and we had to vacate by 7pm.
The whole site is spotless, well maintained landscape areas, there is a small shop in the reception centre. You can order a newspaper or hire an iron. You can exchange your empty Calor gas bottles for refills. The campsite has internet access. all pitches have TV aerial points
It’s quite a large campsite with ponds and lakes and streams and the river Maun for fishing with lots of wildlife swans, ducks, coots, moorhens as well as the regulars robins, many of the tit family, Willow warblers, reed buntings and the like. We saw a few bank voles as we were pitched up right on the riverside and lake in The Willows on Pitch 43.
There are a total of five toilet/shower blocks and also facilities for the disabled. all we found to be very clean, also There are also several facilities for motorhome and caravan fresh water filling points and waste disposal, The site is Children and dog friendly, it has quite a few Children's play areas, there's quite a few nice walks along river Maun for a peaceful relaxing stroll and cycle routes. All the staff were friendly and helpful at all times.
The nearest towns about 2 miles Edwinstowe turning right out of the campsite ( For Supermarkets Petrol etc) and 2 miles from Warsop turning left out of the campsite, small town with shops pubs and cafes, It’s about 4 miles to the Great Oak site In Sherwood Forest home of Robin Hood Maid Marion and his Merry Men. Also its quite close to the Steam Railway.

We thought the internet was a bit expensive at £4 per 24hrs and £6 for 48hrs I cant remember the rest of the prices sorry, I just made my phone into a mobile Hotspot so we could use our laptop and Ipad
